The Schlagen Richten Collection | S.A.M. | From june 18th to july 26th, 2014

Schadenfreude is a german expression that means joy when your opposite suffers, joy because of the bad situation of the other. Political, militar or sportive defeat. This expression puts into words a taste of the other`s humilliation, the arise of the destructive systems.

S.A.M. presents at Swinton Gallery “The Schlagen Richten Collection”, objects, sculptures and posters which show in an antropological way, the history of a forgotten civilization, whose brightness and fall we can admire on it’s vestiges.

S.A.M.

S.A.M. is musician (bass player at “DOVER”) and has a degree in Arts. He lives in Madrid since 2000, where he created most of his work.

His style comes from punk, but not forgetting craft virtuosity. His work seems to be there since the first day of our exixtence, far away from contemporary art, but in a strange way submerged in it.

S.A.M discovers with his solo show at Swinton Gallery “The Schlagen Richten Collection”, several ways to compress different events and historical ages in the same piece. The result is a weird and ageless aestethic. He gives no clues to the observer, he gives no certain sentence or judge.
