OX like to define himself as a painter since his first collage with Les Frères Ripoulin in 1984. That led him inside and outside with the same pictorial and aesthetic research , but two different results for his outdoors work and studio art work.
Meanwhile OX is worldwide known for his billboard interventions based in the context of the surface, in the studio he developed an abstract body of work based on paint and materials.
Between these two ways of action he found himself using found materials and cutting them. The composition is more minimal and sometimes abstract. He uses shapes and colors to restore sensations. His current work focuses on the notion of aesthetic shock, it is built from elements drawn from the consumer visuals emptied of their meaning and fragments of his own imagination.
