Nacido en Oxnard, California, Robert Hardgrave ha hecho una importante contribución a las artes visuales de la costa noroeste de Estados Unidos durante más de una década. Finalista en 2014 del Premio Neddy de Pintura en la Universidad de Bellas Artes de Cornish y nominado en el mismo año al Premio de Arte Contemporáneo del Noroeste por el Museo de Arte de Pórtland, Hardgrave ha mostrado su obra en numerosas exposiciones, tanto individuales como colectivas, en Seattle, Los Ángeles, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago o Nueva York. Esta es su primera exposición individual fuera de Estados Unidos.
