Welcome back, darling, your city, the one that saw you open your eyes, welcomes you again, and you have to learn to love it, to rebuild your identity so you can stay. How do you survive the most radical changes? How do you adapt to an environment that could be frightening or seem hostile? Twelve square kilometers separated by a metal fence from the rest of the African continent, and on the other side, the sea. The struggle with one’s own methods against separation, against the blocked passage, against a situation that provokes despair and sadness; what this exhibition captures is poetry expressed in a ceramic piece, a painted shirt, or a photograph, but poetry as a weapon of resistance.
