Rafael Rubinstein, in his 2009 article “Provisional Painting” argues that once the mimetic character of art has been overcome and its conceptual dimension exhausted, it is necessary to establish a new mode of relationship, through painting, that more faithfully reflects the contemporary world, a system where differences between the real and the false are not clear, a context that is structured from the fissure.

SRGER belongs to that flow of contemporary artists more interested in contradiction, in asking questions more than in providing answers, in the subtle combination of recognizable elements with other purely abstract, cynical dissidents in the way that they elaborate a discourse based on the failure / success / correction, from incompleteness, almost in a Gödelian sense and that embrace imperfection as a sign of identity, questioning the finished / unfinished dialectics of an art work and establishing impermanence as a necessary condition of existence, as well as the pictorial act.
